Wedding week(end): Sunday

Dead asleep until about 11:00 AM. I picked up our ringing phone and warbled "Yeah." Clearly, we were still in bed. By noon, however, we had packed, checked out and eating quiche at the Farewell Brunch. Kimra did an impromptu bouquet toss to Emily, who was defeated by a wily little 8 year old who swept in at the last minute for the big catch. We said goodbye, and drove back into the city to The Palace in Union Square, where we were to spend our last night. I lazed around for a while, enjoying the psychedelic screen saver on our tv, as jazz music played. Eventually we got up, called for the car and drove west to the Cliff House for appetizers, the all-important Diet Coke, and the beach. Later that afternoon we went to the Embarcadero area for a bit of bar hopping in the Ferry Building before meeting Emily at Le Colonial for a very delicious Vietnamese farewell meal. Unfortunately, the alarm went off at 6:30 AM and I was out the door to return the car/board the train for the SFO Domestic Terminal. I actually bumped into Kimra and Pete at their gate for Philly (honeymoon bound), and it occurred to me for the first time that I needed a vacation from my vacation! I slept all the way home to Dallas, and then I found my car after a brief panic that I didn't remember where I had put it in the A termnial parking deck. That afternoon I crawled in bed and didn't crawl out until late Tuesday morning!
