This is my trial run. Here is the explanation. And the reason that ivy leaf has a bite taken out of it.
Armed Forces Day is coming up May 17th. I will be in San Francisco that week. Packages take at least 2 weeks to reach Iraq. Thus, I must send Armed Forces packages this week. This is the 4th Infantry Division emblem. In my infinite wisdom and creativity (and baking agenda). I thought it would be cute to send green, frosted, ivy shaped cookies to my favorite 4ID officer. But I didn't have an ivy shaped cookie cutter...until Wednesday. I went to two stores way the hell out on Valley Mills Drive and at the second one, found a maple leaf cookie cutter. I brought it home and realized that an ivy leaf could easily be fashioned from a maple leaf, and did a test run today. I'm feeling sick from all the sugar. I've been taste testing, and before this batch, I made a batch of from-scratch chocolate chip cookies to send to my friend Steve! A gal has to make sure they taste just right!
