Exercising my right to skip

I just could not do it. I could not drag myself to another three hour lecture about my neuropharm professor's graduate life, his Eagle Scout trips, his experiences with wilderness medicine, his varsity tennis career in college, his love for Blue Bell ice cream, and that crazy time he accidentally ate a batch of pot-laced cookies. Nope. Instead, I had dinner at home and went to Starbucks, where I read my neuropharm text book (the one he lectures from- not the one he had us buy). I don't even like the tea at Starbucks, but the atmosphere just compels me to do my homework. If I had stayed at home I would have read my new biography about Edna St. Vincent Millay, and/or gone to bed early.

Tomorrow my Wilco arrives at noon in Austin and we are off for a weekend adventure. San Antonio is up first, and then we hit Austin Saturday-Sunday. The inane Dia del Oso holiday at Baylor affords me the day off from class tomorrow, and I am taking full advantage.

I have 2 more weeks of my child clinical class, 3 more weeks of "neuropharm" now aka "Diana reads her textbook in a coffee shop and teaches herself," one final, and oral comp exams coming up on the 28th.
